Twenty years of festivals, markets, theatre, and live events have taught me that
the best gatherings don’t happen by accident. Someone has to think through
the details, anticipate what people need, and create a space where everyone
feels welcome. That’s the work I’ve always loved.
I’ve simultaneously spent almost two decades reading tarot and have an
astrology practice I’m deepening every year. The more immersed I become in this work,
the more I notice how many talented Practitioners are doing incredible things in
isolation. Building their own audiences, running their own classes, and trying
to create community entirely on their own.
Somewhere between the folding tables and the tarot cards, I started wondering
what we could build if we stopped trying to do it all on our own.
That’s why I created The Coven Collaborative. A place where independent
Practitioners can share their work, learn from each other, and connect with
people beyond their own circles. Where someone might come for a tarot class and
discover an entirely different practice, perspective, or person they
didn’t know they needed.
I’m building the kind of space I’ve always loved being part of: one
where people bring what they know, stay curious about what others have to offer,
and find more possibilities together than they would have on their own.
I’m not precious about which tradition someone practices. I care that they
approach their work with intention, treat people with respect, and recognize
that none of us has it all figured out. We’re here to learn from each
other, challenge the idea that we have to do everything on our own, and build
something rooted in care for the people around us. The range of practices
already coming together here is more than I could have planned, and that’s
exactly what excites me.
A collective is people in the same room. A collaborative is what they make once
they’re in it. The Coven Collaborative is about what we can build together,
intentionally, for the collective.
